Royal Class Fw 190A-8/R2

EDUARD Model Accessories >> Royal Class

Our Museum cooperated with the model company Eduard Model Accessories on preparations for their prestigious Fw 190A-8/R2 edition Royal Class n. 0004 project in 2006 / 2007.

This model is in the exact variation in which the JG 4 took part in the air battle over the Ore Mountains on September 11, 1944.

We were very pleased that results of our research could help the designers at Eduard in some detail solutions, which could not be determined from historical sources. An example is the method of attaching the side armor on Sturmböck.

An idea about a mutual cooperation on the new Royal Class project was born. Another example of our cooperation is a new publication in Czech and English language called „Bloody Encounter over a Forgotten Mountain“, which is part of the kit.

.

Thanks to the Eduard company, the history of the air battle that we are trying to map out, travels to the whole world with every Royal Class kit and propagates our Museum and the events of September 11, 1944. We are very thankful and honored to be part of this project.

One of the airplanes, which could be built from the kit, is important in the history of September 11, 1944 - Fw 190A-8/R2 of Friedrich-Karl Frank (7./JG 4) was shot down in the battle and crashed near Kovarska. And not only that, the buyer of this kit also receives a piece of this crashed Focke Wulf and a Certificate of Authenticity, together with an etched plaque.

This gift is in no way the sell off of the wreckage in any matter. This small fragment of the wreckage, together with the Certificate of Authenticity is a bonus from our Museum. We hope this will motivate modelers to build the Fw. Frank’s “Yellow 8”.

A very nice supplement in the kit box is a card from a prestige American publisher of an aviation literature called Squadron Signal. The card has a special code 91144. By ordering some titles from Squadron Signal, like the „Fw 190A/F Walk Around“, „Bf 109G Walk Around“ or „P-51D Walk Around“ on their web pages www.squadron.com or by calling 1-972-242-8663, the publisher will support our Museum with 5 USD from each order.

The Royal Class Fw 190A-8/R2 by Eduard is surely impressive. Besides the already mentioned items, the kit also includes 2 complete kits of Fw 190A-8 (R2)s in the 1:48 scale, including very exact sets of decals, complete sets of photo-etched metal accessories, a canopy mask sheet to be used during model painting and last but not least the Knight’s Cross replica!

You can order your Royal Class R0004 for 160 USD via the Eduard’s web site or by way of our Museum.
